Course Ⅰ: Exercise B1 - How to use patient's reflex to expose energy insults causing pains and aches.

This first Exercise presents testing the Myotatic Load Reflex (termed "Indicator Reflex" - IR) because it is the procedure you will be using to identify insulting energy frequencies that cause crippling conditions.

Three step Exercise

Step 1. Activate the video below by clicking on it for a demonstration of the Myotatic Reflex Testing procedure.

Step 2. Read the text explanation and word glossary (glossary form) for an explanation of the Indicator Reflex (IR) (Myotatic Reflex) Testing.

Step3. Take the ungraded quiz to determine how well you understand the Exercise, and use the Comment form if you have any questions or suggestions.

State Energy Remedy® Uses the Myotatic Load Reflex as an Indicator Reflex (IR).

The Myotatic Load Reflex’s purpose is to maintain the muscle’s static position as in standing, holding a plate, etc. (refer to Guyton's Textbook on Load or Stress Reflex). The Myotatic Load Reflex is your State Energy Remedy® principal testing tool.and is referred to as the Indicator Reflex (IR).  As a State Energy Remedy® practitioner you use your patient’s extended arm or leg as a tool to determine an intact (a crisp hold) or lax (spongy or weak) muscle reflex response.

Determining an Indicator Reflex

When determining an intact Myotatic reflex for an Indicator Reflex (IR), with State Energy Remedy®, you use a group of muscles (example shoulder or leg muscle group illustrations) for the Indicator Reflex (IR) rather than a single muscle. When using a single muscle reflex as an Indicator Reflex (IR), there is the possibility that the single muscle’s reflex energy is involved with the patient’s dysfunctional condition you are evaluating. When using the reflex response of a muscle group, the Indicator Reflex (IR) outcome will be more accurate and less susceptible to false findings.

When using the shoulder muscle group as the Indicator Reflex (IR), have your patient extend an arm perpendicular from the anterior of their body.  When testing you place the hand you are testing withy just proximal to your patient's extended wrist (illustration) in a position that will feel the muscle group’s Myotatic Load Reflex of your choice.

To begin testing you gently but consistently feel the positional stability of the patient's arm being tested (this is not arm wrestling) to evaluate the collective muscle group’s Myotatic Load Reflex (Indicator Reflex - IR) mechanism.  You advise the patient to maintain the arm’s position without using a muscle effort to resist your perceived pressure. (Repeating, this is not arm wrestling)

To determine an intact Myotatic load reflex, you should feel a crisp stability to your very soft pressure on the limb being used.  This positional stability is necessary to be able to use the muscle group’s Myotatic load reflex as the Indicator Reflex (IR) for testing as opposed to muscle testing.

Doctor, you must be vigilant. It is easy to slip into testing the muscle group for a muscle reactive response when determining the quality of the reflex feel.  Feeling a muscle response is engaging the muscle group. The State Energy Remedy® technique response you are looking for is just the opposite of the muscle response. The State Energy Remedy® technique positive response is the patient's Indicator Reflex (IR) becomes more lax.

When your pressure is on the strong side of soft the patient will employ their muscle group to resist, that takes the Myotatic Reflex out of play.  It is a positional reflex that comes into play before the muscle response comes into play. To feel the reflex the patient should not resist, the patient should just maintain the position of the limb being used for the test.

The terms“in the clear” or "clear" are use to reflect or to document the Indicator Reflex (IR) is an intact reflex response before testing when not testing anything.

Reflex testing NOT Muscle testing

(This can not be stressed enough)

The strength of the muscle group is not being tested; this is a Myotatic Load Reflex test, not a muscle test.  When using the Myotatic Reflex as an Indicator Reflex (IR), the response you receive will be the same from a ninety-three-year-old great grandmother as it is from her sixteen-year-old great-grandson. Muscle strength is not a test.

As you check for an intact Indicator Reflex (IR) in the clear, If there is a mushy response or the patient's arm is waving, stop. In most cases, the patient doesn’t understand what is expected of them. Explain the necessity to hold the limb position but not engaging the muscle group.

If your testing causes discomfort, you are activating a muscle. Stop, retest using softer pressure to test just the reflex.  If you are concerned, choose a different muscle group reflex such as a leg rather than an arm.

When you become accustomed to using the Myotatic Load Reflex as an Indicator Reflex (IR), you will be able to test a sore muscle group without pain, because when testing the Myotatic Reflex response correctly, there is no stress on the muscle or muscle group.

Be persistent in your use of this Reflex test and be patient, above all be soft in your application.
